it's been an exciting week in the virtual part of my life: greta and i have been working on our "101 in 1001" lists, which is a fun exercise ... brad published a new comic, as well as an epic smackdown of someone who appeared to have insulted jen on facebook (sadly, the latter is not available for linkage, but trust me, it was *awesome*) ... seamus said his first sentence, which, of course, was *hilarious* (that boy is a natural comedian) ... cora showcased her overwhelming cuteness and precocious verbal abilities (or perhaps she just seems precocious because seamus has been late in this regard) ... rowan caught snowflakes on his tongue ... and frank took some beautiful photos in his neighborhood park.

on the sad side, fran & john's boulder creek idyll (or idle, if you prefer), was visited by tragedy, and fran wrote movingly about it.

the best news of the week: rosie and linda bought a second/vacation home in beautiful southern vermont. linda's vivid account of the transaction was the week's best read by far -- little details like shoe traction studs as presents, "sooner than later" as a unit of time in vermontese, and welbutrin as a substitute for meaningless sex, made me want to read anything and everything that she might write in the future.

the best traditionally-published news of the week: greta's remarkable grandmother was profiled by her local paper. go toni!

  1. GF sez: This is fantastic, Jimma! And you are right: Linda rocks -- I love the house purchase story. And I want that house when they are through with it!
